What is Camilla’s Official Role Now as Queen Consort?
Will it Be Different from Her Role as Charles’ Wife of 17 Years?
I’ve always been interested in the comings and goings of the Royal Family in the United Kingdom. When Princess Diana and Prince Charles got married on July 29, 1981, I was 7 years old. I remember my mom watching the coverage of this special event on TV. When Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997, I was 23. I was so sad when she died in the car crash in Paris. I was 37 years old when William and Kate got married. I remember watching their wedding on TV on April 29, 2011. I was 44 when Harry and Meghan got married. I watched their wedding ceremony on TV as well on May 19, 2018.
I’ve been a fan of shows like The Crown on Netflix. I was glued to the TV upon the news that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh died on April 9, 2021. I was saddened to hear that Queen Elizabeth II passed away this week. I had always been fascinated by her grace under pressure, dignity, and strong commitment to her people.
I watched King Charles III give his speech today. I thought he paid a lovely tribute to his mother. He spoke about his wife Camilla, gave William and Kate new titles as Prince and Princess of Wales, and expressed his love for Harry and Meghan. I’m glad he shared his love and included them in his speech.
