As of Thursday, March 12, 2020, 3 pm (at the time I wrote this article), the CDC has reported that there are currently 1,401 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US, 40 fatal cases, and 15 recovered. There are 133,039 global confirmed cases, 4,947 fatal global cases, and 68,891 recovered.

You can visit the CDC website to find helpful information on “keeping workplaces, homes, schools, and commercial establishments safe,” the “CDC framework for mitigation,” and “mitigation strategies for COVID-19 cluster areas in Santa Clara, CA, Seattle, WA, and New Rochelle, NY.

According to the CDC, it has been estimated that approximately “575,000 people may have died from H1N1 in 2009.” An average of 500,000 people die each year from contracting the seasonal flu. In 1918, the flu pandemic was responsible for killing approximately 50 million people globally.

President Trump addressed the nation from the Oval Office Wednesday, 3/11/2020 at 9 pm EST. The following video from ABC News shows his address.

I thought President Trump’s Oval Office address was calming and unifying for the nation, despite reports from the liberal media, specifically CNN that said his address “sowed division” and did nothing to calm the nation.
